On September 24, I started working on a project because my brain simply would not let it go. Two days later, I realized why I had such a strong urge to finally make it a reality, after years of letting it simmer.

That was when my Dad died.

I've just finished it, and it's dedicated to him.

It took me weeks before I could open it up again. A few days ago, I knew I was finally ready.

Creating this has been healing.

Maybe, this Samhain, it'll be helpful for others.

The Silent Supper is a solo alternative to the ritual meal often held on Samhain — an invitation to the ancestors or other beloved dead to share a meal with the living. Do it as a simplified Supper or as a journal experience.

Maybe you have roommates who come and go at all hours. Maybe you need to stay in the broom closet because you live with family who don't share — or approve of — your beliefs. Whatever your circumstances, if you'd like to hold a Silent Supper but couldn't before, this is for you.
